Laurie Red

Irving FabricF4681-01

Laurie Red is a warm, woven colourway with a small-scale, textured look that reads as energetic but grounded. The fine grain of the weave gives the surface a softly dappled finish rather than a flat solid red.

About this fabric

Woven in a 38% Linen, 30% Viscose, 26% Cotton, 6% Polyester blend, Laurie Red has a tactile handle that suits upholstery as well as drapery, with a width of approximately 138cm and no repeat. The colour sits between red and terracotta, with beige highlights breaking up the surface and keeping it from feeling too bright. In the swatch, the texture appears tightly worked and evenly distributed, creating a neat small-scale effect that will sit comfortably in both classic and contemporary schemes. The warm red tone feels lively and refined rather than stark, with the weave adding depth and a slightly artisan character.

How to use it

Use Laurie Red to bring warmth to an upholstered chair, ottoman or bench, or pair it with timber and neutral linens for balance. Its terracotta cast works especially well with earthy palettes, soft creams and aged brass finishes.

A lively terracotta red that works well on tailored seating or structured curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
