Tristram Red
Hamlin FabricF4726-08
Tristram Red shows a fine, orderly herringbone effect in a warm terracotta-red tone, with the weave reading clearly across the surface. The colour feels earthy rather than bright, giving the cloth a softly tailored look.

About this fabric
This Hamlin fabric from Colefax and Fowler is a textile with a 143cm approx width and a close repeat of V 0cm / H 1cm approx, which keeps the small-scale herringbone movement neat and steady across the surface. The composition—25% Linen, 22% Cotton, 21% Viscose, 16% Polyester, 11% Wool, 5% Polyamide—helps explain the fabric’s balanced, slightly dry handle and the subtle mottled depth visible in the weave. Tristram Red reads as a muted terracotta with brick and rose undertones, so the colour feels warm and grounded rather than glossy or vivid. The overall effect is a smart, quietly textured cloth that can work on seating or window treatments where a restrained pattern and a settled red tone are wanted.
How to use it
Use Tristram Red to bring warmth to a sofa, dining chair, or tailored curtains without overwhelming a room. Its earthy red tone sits well with oak, aged brass, chalky neutrals, and deeper tobacco or olive accents.
A warm terracotta-red herringbone with enough body for upholstery and a tailored drape for curtains.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Tristram Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
