Jocasta Red

Rosella FabricF4530-03

Jocasta Red shows a warm terracotta-red ground with an aged, softly weathered look. The ornate damask-style motif is worked in pale stone, blue-grey and sand tones that lift the surface and keep it from feeling flat.

About this fabric

This Rosella colourway has a richly broken red ground, with the weave and print effect giving the surface a gently distressed, almost antique character. The repeated medallions and floral motifs are picked out in cream, blue-grey and muted ochre, creating a layered pattern that reads smart rather than flashy. With a width of approximately 133cm and a vertical and horizontal repeat of around 66cm, it is suited to large-scale pattern placement where the design can breathe. The composition of 49% viscose, 26% linen, 17% cotton and 8% polyester gives the cloth a tactile, natural-feeling hand with enough structure for a versatile decorative fabric.

How to use it

Use this red colourway to warm oak furniture, pale plaster walls and quieter neutrals, letting the blue-grey accents in the pattern add contrast. It works especially well where you want an inviting, patterned statement without resorting to a saturated plain red.

Pair with aged brass, natural linen and soft blue accents to balance the rich red ground.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
