Stratford Red

Roscoe FabricF3831-02

Stratford Red has a tightly woven, speckled surface in a deep brick-red tone that reads warm and grounded. The small-scale texture gives the colour gentle movement rather than a flat finish.

About this fabric

This Roscoe colourway shows a dense plain weave with a softly irregular fleck, where brick red is lifted by tiny lighter yarns and occasional darker cross threads. The cloth is 140cm wide approx and composed of 59% viscose, 16% polyester, 15% cotton and 10% linen, giving it a balanced, textural handle. With no repeat in either direction, the surface feels calm and tailored, and the colour sits somewhere between claret and terracotta rather than a bright crimson. The finish looks matte to subtly lustrous, which helps the red hold depth across the full width of the fabric.

How to use it

Use Stratford Red on a sofa, dining chair or headboard where the warm, muted red can anchor a room without overpowering it. It pairs particularly well with oak, aged brass and soft neutrals, or with inkier blues for a richer contrast.

A rich brick tone that adds warmth and depth without feeling glossy.

Pairs well with

Stratford Red is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
