Fontessa Old Blue

Rosella FabricF4532-01

Fontessa in Old Blue shows a classic damask pattern softened into a pale, chalky blue ground. The motif reads gently tonal rather than high-contrast, giving the cloth a light, lived-in elegance.

About this fabric

Woven in a 49% viscose, 26% linen, 17% cotton and 8% polyester blend, this fabric has a dry, lightly slubbed texture that suits both fitted upholstery and elegant curtains. The repeat is a generous V 33cm / H 33cm approx, which lets the scrolling damask hold its shape clearly without feeling too small or busy. In this Old Blue colourway, the pattern sits in silvery blue with creamy highlights, so the design feels cool, soft and slightly weathered rather than bright. At 135cm approx wide and with Q 8 + T 3 care guidance and √BM fire code noted, it is a practical decorative textile with a refined finish.

How to use it

Use this pale blue damask on a compact sofa, bedroom headboard or full-length curtains where the soft contrast can be appreciated. It works especially well with white-painted joinery, brushed oak and linen in oyster or dove grey.

Pair with pale oak and chalky neutrals to keep the pattern feeling airy and refined.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fontessa Old Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
