About this fabric

Woven in 51% Recycled Wool, 39% Recycled Acrylic and 10% Recycled Polyester, this Jane Churchill fabric has the reassuring handle of a wool blend with a subtle, tailored finish. The plaid reads as a muted blue with cool grey undertones, broken up by paler sky-blue bands and fine crosshatching that keeps the design from feeling flat. At approximately 144cm wide with a vertical repeat of 19cm and horizontal repeat of 18cm, it has the scale to show the check clearly on cushions, chairs or curtains. The overall effect is crisp but softened, with enough texture to stop the blue from becoming too bright.

How to use it

Use Montrose Plaid Blue on an armchair, banquette or Roman blind where its cool, dusty tone can sit alongside oak, chalk white or pale grey. It also brings a neat, countryside-smart note to a scheme with navy piping, brushed metal and plain linens.

A cool, versatile check that works beautifully in tailored upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
