Harris Stripe Blue

Skye FabricJ0266-04

Harris Stripe Blue is a quietly textured stripe with a denim-blue ground and crisp pale bands running across the surface. The effect is fresh and slightly weathered rather than bright, giving the design a relaxed, lived-in feel.

About this fabric

This Jane Churchill fabric from the Skye collection has a reassuringly tactile look, with a slubby blue ground broken by narrow horizontal stripes in pale grey-white. The repeat is approximately V 12cm / H 0.5cm, creating a fine rhythmic stripe that reads as ordered but not rigid. At approximately 144cm wide and woven in 37% recycled wool, 28% recycled acrylic, 20% recycled polyester, 7% polyester and 6% recycled fibre, it has the substance of a practical furnishing cloth with an easy, natural handle. The blue is cool and softened, more faded indigo than vivid navy, so the contrast stripes sit lightly rather than sharply.

How to use it

Use it for relaxed chairs, benches or covered headboards where the muted blue can bring structure without feeling formal. It also works well beside bleached timber, stone and off-white paint, letting the pale stripes pick up the lighter tones in a room.

Pairs easily with oak, chalky neutrals and coastal interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Harris Stripe Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
