About this fabric

Shelley Petrol from Jane Churchill is a fabric with no repeat, so the small-scale texture and colour variation come entirely from the weave itself. At approximately 138cm wide, it is a versatile cloth in 64% polyester, 32% viscose and 4% cotton, with care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code K. Visually, the shade sits between blue and teal, but in this colourway it leans more muted and smoky than bright, with a cool grey cast that softens the petrol tone. The surface has a compact, nubby texture that catches the light in tiny speckles rather than a sheen, giving it a practical yet polished finish.

How to use it

Use this petrol shade to add quiet colour to a sofa, armchair or tailored curtains without overpowering the room. It pairs especially well with pale oak, chalk white and warm greys, where its cool depth can stand out cleanly.

A cool, textured petrol blue that works neatly across upholstery and drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
