Apsley Blue

Tarka FabricJ0110-03

Apsley Blue brings a strong ikat stripe to the Tarka collection, with inky blue vertical forms cutting through a warm natural ground. The weave has a dry, linen-rich look that keeps the pattern feeling crisp rather than glossy.

About this fabric

This colourway pairs deep indigo blue with a soft beige ground, giving the design a fresh, coastal feel without looking pale. The stripe is visibly broken and painterly at the edges, which softens the vertical rhythm and adds movement across the cloth. It is made in 57% viscose, 31% cotton, 9% linen and 3% polyester, with a width of approximately 138cm and a repeat of V 32cm / H 23cm approx. The surface reads as a textured furnishing cloth rather than a flat print, so the blue sits into the weave and keeps its depth in changing light.

How to use it

Use Apsley Blue where you want a tailored stripe with a relaxed finish: it would sharpen simple upholstered chairs, cushions or roman blinds. The indigo tone sits especially well with pale oak, chalk white and weathered brass.

A crisp ikat stripe that adds tailored energy to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
