Apsley Red

Tarka FabricJ0110-02

Apsley Red shows Tarka’s graphic stripe in a lively, woven red against a pale natural ground. The jagged vertical edges give the design movement and keep the colourway feeling energetic rather than flat.

About this fabric

This colourway pairs a warm tomato red with a soft linen-look base, so the contrast feels crisp but not harsh. The stripe has a deliberately irregular, sawtooth edge that reads clearly across the 138cm width and gives the surface a handwoven character. Made in 57% viscose, 31% cotton, 9% linen and 3% polyester, it has the blended handle expected of a decorative furnishing fabric. The repeat is V 32cm / H 23cm approx, which helps explain the rhythm of the pattern seen in the swatch. The Q 8 < T 3 care code and √BM fire code make it suitable for interior schemes where a practical, design-led textile is needed.

How to use it

Use Apsley Red on accent chairs, cushions or tailored blinds where the bold red stripes can punctuate a room without overwhelming it. It works especially well with oak, walnut and undyed linens, letting the red stay bright and grounded.

Pair with plain linen or warm neutral woods to let the jagged stripe do the talking.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
