About this fabric

This Jardine fabric from Colefax and Fowler is woven in a 35% cotton, 35% linen and 30% viscose blend, with an approximate width of 140cm and a large repeat of V 65cm / H 68cm. In this colourway, the ground reads as a warm coral red rather than a deep crimson, which keeps the floral motifs feeling fresh and luminous. The trailing stripe of blush, ivory and soft grey flowers stands out clearly without looking harsh, while small touches of pink and yellow add depth to the pattern. The overall effect is decorative and refined, with enough body in the cloth to work well for drapery and selected upholstery uses. Care code Q 8 + W 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Pair Clarinda Red with painted timber, pale neutrals and softly aged brass to echo its classic decorative character. It works especially well in rooms that benefit from warmth and pattern, such as drawing rooms, bedrooms or formal sitting areas.

Use for statement curtains or softer upholstered accents to let the embroidered-style floral stripe stand out against the coral ground.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Clarinda Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
