Colefax and Fowler

Wyatt Old Blue

Irving FabricF4677-03

Wyatt Old Blue has a quiet, weathered look, with a small geometric weave that reads like a softened check from a distance. The colour sits between faded denim and misty slate, giving the surface a calm, washed finish.

About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is supplied at approximately 142cm wide and is composed of 55% viscose, 21% polyester, 14% linen and 10% cotton. The repeat is approximately V 11cm and H 5cm, which helps the tiny stepped motif keep its disciplined rhythm across the cloth. In Old Blue, the blue notes are muted and cool, threaded through pale grey, stone and ivory tones so the pattern feels light rather than heavy. The surface has a soft, lightly textured handle that suits a versatile decorative fabric, with a subtle lift from the blend and a restrained woven sheen.

How to use it

Use it for upholstered armchairs, benches or headboards where its small-scale pattern can read as texture rather than statement. It also works well at the window in a relaxed scheme with off-white paint, weathered timber and linen cushions.

Pairs neatly with pale oak, chalky neutrals and brushed metal finishes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
