Carey Old Blue

Irving FabricF4682-01

Carey Old Blue shows Irving’s narrow horizontal stripe pattern in a softly weathered blue, lifted by pale neutral ground and fine woven detail. The overall effect is calm and tailored rather than bright or bold.

About this fabric

This colourway combines muted blue-grey stripes with cream, beige and taupe threads, giving the surface a gently faded, almost chalky look. The repeating bands read clearly across the 139cm width, with a measured rhythm that suits the design’s medium-scale stripe. Its 42% viscose, 32% cotton, 17% polyester, 7% linen and 2% acrylic composition gives the cloth a balanced handle and a lightly textured finish. With a repeat of V 33cm / H 9cm approx, the pattern has enough structure to feel ordered while still looking relaxed and woven. The Q 8 < T 3 care code and √BM fire code support its use as a practical decorative fabric.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, bench or modestly scaled curtains where the soft blue can cool warmer woods and stone. It works especially well in rooms with linen, painted joinery or antique oak, where the restrained stripe adds detail without dominating.

A restrained striped fabric that brings quiet colour and texture to tailored interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
