About this fabric

This Morton colourway reads as a cool, muted blue with a gentle chalky cast, softened further by the subtle slub and small woven fleck visible across the surface. The plain design has no repeat, so the texture and colour carry the character instead of a motif. At approximately 140cm wide and composed of 34% viscose, 33% cotton, 26% linen and 7% polyester, it has the balance of natural handle and practicality expected of a versatile furnishing cloth. The overall effect is crisp yet understated, with enough body for upholstery and enough softness for drapery.

How to use it

Use Old Blue on a tailored armchair, blind or loose cover where its pale, cool tone can keep a room feeling fresh. It pairs especially well with white paint, ash timber and deeper navy accents for a layered but quiet scheme.

A quiet blue-linen look that works beautifully on relaxed upholstery or tailored curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
