Wembury Old Blue

Bampton FabricF4901-06

Wembury Old Blue is a quiet, finely textured plain in a pale, weathered blue. The cloth reads cool and softly woven, with a calm, airy finish that feels understated rather than bright.

About this fabric

This Wembury colourway has a washed, old-blue character with a gentle grey cast, so the surface feels muted and slightly chalky in the light. The weave is visible at close range, with the linen and viscose blend giving the cloth a dry, natural texture rather than a glossy finish. It is supplied as a 146cm approx wide fabric and has no repeat, making the plain ground especially easy to work into tailored schemes. The composition of 44% Viscose, 40% Linen, 10% Cotton and 6% Polyester gives it a balanced hand that should suit both upholstery and lighter furnishing use. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BH are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use this soft blue as a calm counterpoint to pale oak, limestone and brushed metals, where its muted tone will keep the room light. It also works well with crisp whites and deeper navy accents if you want a more tailored, coastal feel.

A cool, understated blue that works well across relaxed upholstery or soft drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
