Vita FabricJ0099-03

Floris Blue/Linen shows a loose, painterly floral trail across a warm linen ground. The blue petals feel softly brushed rather than sharp, giving the design an airy, relaxed character.

About this fabric

This colourway from Jane Churchill’s Vita collection is woven in 52% viscose and 48% linen, with an approximate width of 130cm and a vertical repeat of 78cm / horizontal repeat of 65cm. The ground reads as a natural linen beige, while the flowers are picked out in faded sky blue, denim blue and soft slate, with tiny darker centres that add definition. The brushy outline and irregular leaf detail keep the pattern feeling organic rather than formal, and the linen content gives the surface a gently slubby, tactile look. It would suit drapes or lighter upholstery schemes where you want the floral to feel calm, washed-back and easy to live with.

How to use it

Use Floris Blue/Linen on relaxed curtains, a bedroom headboard or an occasional chair where its soft blue notes can sit against ivory, driftwood and pale grey. The warm neutral ground stops the floral becoming too cool, so it layers well into coastal or country rooms.

Pair with pale oak, chalky neutrals and brushed metals to keep the airy blue floral feeling fresh.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
