Voltaire Opale

Voltaire FabricM4130-12

Voltaire Opale is a softly muted sage green fabric with a fine, lightly napped-looking weave that gives the surface a gentle depth. The colour reads cool and airy, with just enough warmth in the undertone to keep it from feeling stark.

About this fabric

This colourway shows a restrained sage-green tone that sits quietly between green and grey, with a dry, textural look rather than a glossy finish. The woven surface feels balanced and refined, and the 140cm approximate width makes it practical for both tailored upholstery and full-length drapery. Its composition of 42% cotton, 38% viscose, 15% polyester and 5% linen supports that soft handle and lightly mottled appearance, while the zero repeat keeps the cloth visually calm. The overall effect is understated but polished, with the shade catching light softly instead of reflecting it.

How to use it

Use it on relaxed upholstery, a slipper chair or bench where the sage tone can sit alongside oak, limestone and brushed brass. It also makes elegant curtains in a room with pale walls, adding colour without overwhelming the scheme.

A calm sage tone that works neatly across upholstery and curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
