EMP514 is a deep charcoal-grey faux linen with a tightly woven, crosshatched surface. Its near-black tone absorbs the light, while the fine linear texture keeps the plain ground visually dimensional.

About this fabric

Made from 100% polyester, EMP514 is a 138cm-wide faux linen suitable for both contract and domestic upholstery. The dark charcoal colour reads cooler and softer than a true black, with closely spaced horizontal and vertical threads creating a restrained checked texture. Its structured appearance gives chairs, sofas and headboards a smart, tailored finish rather than a fluid drapery look. Aftercare is machine washable, and the fabric has domestic cigarette-and-match flame retardancy with the option to be treated to Crib 5 contract grade.

How to use it

Pair this deep charcoal colourway with pale timber, warm neutrals or brushed metal to balance its cool depth. It works particularly well on clean-lined seating where the subtle crosshatch can be seen close up.

Use this deep charcoal weave to give upholstered seating a tailored, quietly textured finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
