Botanical Black

Fabrics Fabric10110

Botanical Black combines a pale grey ground with dense charcoal-black tracery that resembles tightly interwoven stems, leaves and branching forms. Its layered surface reads as quietly graphic rather than boldly illustrative.

About this fabric

The close-set botanical pattern is rendered in charcoal black over a cool pale grey base, creating a softly contrasted colourway with considerable visual depth. Fine irregular lines and darker woven areas give the swatch a tactile, broken texture rather than a flat printed appearance. The fabric has the look of a versatile mid-weight textile, making it suitable for both upholstery and drapery. No composition, width, rub-test rating or performance features have been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Botanical Black to bring definition to a pale, cool-toned room: it would work well on an occasional chair, headboard or full-length curtain where the charcoal tracery can read against a light wall or plain upholstery.

The dense charcoal tracery gives this pale grey ground a graphic, textural character for upholstery or drapery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Botanical Black without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
