Botanical Blue

Fabrics Fabric101

Botanical Blue is a deep, cool-toned blue fabric with an intricate all-over pattern of irregular, branching marks. Its dark ground gives the design a concentrated, almost atmospheric depth.

About this fabric

The swatch combines an ink-blue base with darker navy and subtly lighter blue passages, creating a layered surface rather than a flat block colour. Dense, broken motifs spread across the cloth in an abstract botanical arrangement, with the woven texture catching the light in small variations. The substantial-looking, textured face makes this colourway read most naturally as an upholstery fabric. No composition, width, rub test or performance specification has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Botanical Blue on a statement armchair, ottoman or compact sofa where its cool ink tone can anchor softer grey, stone or warm timber finishes. Keep surrounding patterns restrained so the dense organic marks remain the room’s main textural feature.

The deep blue ground and densely layered marks bring graphic depth to upholstered seating and occasional pieces.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Botanical Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
