Grand Gertrude Linen presents an intricate chinoiserie scene across a warm cream ground, with curling foliage, exotic trees and small russet animals. Soft sage, olive and muted blue-green tones give the design a gently faded, garden-room character.

About this fabric

The pattern combines leafy trees, feathery palms, birds and fantastical russet-brown animals, with deeper green foliage providing contrast against the pale background. This colourway feels warm and lightly timeworn rather than vivid, while touches of ochre and terracotta bring definition to the botanical details. At 137 cm (53.82") wide, it has a 98 cm (38.5") vertical repeat and 45.5 cm (17.88") horizontal repeat, so motif placement should be considered when cutting. Its 82% viscose and 18% linen composition is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, with a 20,000 Martindale rub test.

How to use it

Use this cream-based colourway on a statement chair, upholstered headboard or full-length curtains, then echo its sage foliage and russet branches through painted cabinetry, cushions or lampshades.

Use the warm cream ground with aged timber, painted furniture and russet or sage accents for a collected traditional scheme.
