Gertrude Emerald/Blue

Eldon FabricBP11073.2

Gertrude Emerald/Blue places finely drawn birds, deer, monkeys, foliage and fantastical creatures across a warm ivory ground. Emerald foliage and cool blue animals give the densely scattered scene a fresh, cool-toned depth.

About this fabric

This 134 cm-wide fabric carries a 125 cm vertical repeat and a full 134 cm horizontal repeat, so the ivory ground is richly populated rather than sparsely scaled. An 82% viscose and 18% linen composition gives the cloth a natural fibre blend, while the image shows an even, smooth-looking surface beneath the detailed motif. Emerald leaves and rounded foliage sit beside pale blue-grey birds and animals, with occasional ochre and brown accents adding warmth to the otherwise cool green-and-blue palette. Rated to 20,000 Martindale rubs, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use the cool ivory ground to lighten a room, then draw out the emerald foliage with deep green upholstery or painted joinery. The blue-grey animals and small warm ochre details also pair naturally with muted blue, aged wood and brass accents.

A cool ivory, emerald and blue chinoiserie-style story for characterful upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
