Rio Magenta is a richly coloured velvet built from dense geometric panels, ornate medallions and scrolling motifs. Its saturated magenta, ruby and burgundy palette is softened by rose, cream, olive and brown details.

About this fabric

The pattern has a tapestry-like character, combining diamond forms, stepped borders, floral-like medallions and narrow horizontal bands in a highly detailed vertical layout. The deep magenta ground reads warm and saturated, while darker burgundy sections give the design depth and the lighter rose and cream marks catch the eye across the surface. Composed of 55% viscose and 45% cotton, this 136 cm wide velvet has a 92 cm vertical repeat and 68 cm horizontal repeat. With a 50,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use Rio Magenta on a statement chair, headboard or upholstered bench where its saturated red-magenta tone can lead a room scheme. Balance the busy pattern with quieter textiles in warm cream, olive, brown or deep burgundy.

Use this richly patterned magenta velvet to bring tapestry-like colour and visual depth to upholstered seating or statement cushions.
