GP & J Baker

Salvador Sea Foam

Rio Velvets VelvetBF10632.4

Salvador Sea Foam has a cool, muted blue-green ground broken by closely packed vertical streaks in grey, pale aqua and warm neutral tones. The fine pile catches the light unevenly, giving the surface a softly dimensional strié effect.

About this fabric

This GP & J Baker velvet is composed of 8% cotton, 78% viscose and 14% polyester, with a 140 cm (55") width and a 17 cm (6.68") vertical pattern repeat. Its narrow, irregular streaks create a softly weathered texture rather than a bold motif, while the sea-foam colour remains calm and lightly desaturated. Suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, it offers useful versatility across soft furnishings. A 45,000 Martindale rub test supports its use on hard-wearing upholstered seating; care is professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.

How to use it

Use this cool sea-foam colourway to bring a quiet blue-green note to an otherwise neutral room, especially on a statement chair, sofa or full-length curtains. Pair it with chalky off-whites, weathered timber and brushed metal to pick up the fabric’s pale and grey vertical flecks.

A cool, finely striated sea-foam velvet for upholstery, curtains and bedspreads, with subtle depth from its mixed blue-green and neutral threads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
