King's Velvet Jade

Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBF10658.772

King's Velvet Jade has a deep, saturated teal surface with the softly irregular glow characteristic of velvet. Subtle changes in the nap move between blue-green and near-black teal, giving the plain colourway considerable depth.

About this fabric

This velvet is composed of 69% viscose, 19% cotton and 12% polyester, with a 140 cm (55") width. The close, plush-looking surface is visibly mottled rather than flat, allowing the rich jade tone to catch and absorb light across the cloth. It is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, and carries a 50,000 Martindale rub test. Care instructions are professional dry cleaning only: do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use the deep jade teal to bring saturated colour to a reading chair, sofa or upholstered bed, or let it form dense, atmospheric curtains against warm timber and muted neutrals. Its blue-green depth also works as a dramatic contrast to aged brass and softly lit rooms.

A saturated jade velvet with softly mottled depth, equally suited to tailored upholstery and full curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
