King's Velvet Parchment

Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBF10658.225

King's Velvet Parchment has a warm parchment-beige ground with a softly mottled nap rather than a printed motif. Across the swatch, the velvet shifts gently between taupe shadow and pale beige highlights as the surface catches the light.

About this fabric

This velvet is made from 69% viscose, 19% cotton and 12% polyester, with a plain surface marked by the subtle, brushed-looking variation visible in the photograph. At 140 cm (55") wide, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Its 50,000 Martindale rub test makes it suitable for upholstery applications as well as the softer drapery uses listed. Care is professional dry cleaning only; do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use this warm parchment beige on a tailored sofa or occasional chair where its taupe shading can add depth without introducing a strong colour. It also works as quietly luminous curtains or a bedspread, allowing the velvet nap to create gentle tonal movement in natural light.

A softly mottled parchment velvet that brings understated warmth to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
