King's Velvet Mink

Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBF10658.285

King's Velvet Mink is a plain velvet with a softly clouded surface, shifting between muted taupe, warm brown and grey as the nap catches the light. Its quiet, finely mottled appearance gives the colourway depth without introducing a printed motif.

About this fabric

The close view shows a dense velvet surface with subtle tonal variation rather than a flat, uniform colour. Mink taupe-brown sits at the centre of the shade, with cooler grey-brown passages and lighter highlights appearing across the nap. At 140 cm (55") wide, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The composition is 69% viscose, 19% cotton and 12% polyester, with a 50,000 Martindale rub test; care is professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.

How to use it

Use this muted mink taupe on a reading chair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its light-catching pile can add restrained luxury. It also brings gentle warmth to full-length curtains or a bedspread without overpowering stronger timber, stone or patterned furnishings.

A richly tactile mink-toned velvet with enough durability for upholstery and the depth to make elegant curtains or bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
