King's Velvet Quartz

Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBF10658.248

King's Velvet Quartz is a quietly variegated taupe velvet with a dense, even surface and subtle changes in tone across the pile. Its muted brown-beige colour reads warm and softly luminous as the nap catches the light.

About this fabric

Woven from 12% polyester, 69% viscose and 19% cotton, this velvet measures 140 cm (55") wide. The Quartz colourway combines a calm taupe-brown ground with lighter beige-gold flecks created by the directional pile, rather than a printed motif. With a 50,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Care instructions are to not wash, bleach or iron, and to use professional dry cleaning.

How to use it

Use Quartz on a generously upholstered chair, sofa or headboard where its warm taupe depth can soften darker timber and bring a gentle glow to neutral rooms. Its quietly shifting pile also gives plain curtains or bedspreads more dimension without introducing a pattern.

A plush taupe velvet that brings softly variegated depth to upholstered seating and headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
