King's Velvet Gold

Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBF10658.830

King's Velvet Gold is a rich, plain velvet with a deep antique-gold tone that shifts into brown across the softly brushed surface. Its close nap catches the light in cloudy, subtly varied patches rather than a flat block of colour.

About this fabric

The shade combines warm ochre gold with earthy brown undertones, giving the velvet a grounded, historic depth. A fine, directional nap creates gentle tonal movement across the face, with lighter glints where the pile changes direction. It is woven from 69% viscose, 19% cotton and 12% polyester, with a 140 cm (55") width. The 50,000 Martindale rub test supports its specified use for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Care is professional dry cleaning only; do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use this antique golden-brown velvet to add warm depth to a reading chair, sofa or upholstered headboard, or let its light-catching nap enrich full curtains. It works particularly well with dark timber, aged brass and muted earthy neutrals.

Its deep golden-brown nap brings warm, quietly opulent depth to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
