King's Velvet Silver

Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBF10658.925

King's Velvet Silver has a quiet, cool-toned presence, with a pale silver-grey pile that shifts gently as it catches the light. Its subtly clouded surface gives the plain velvet depth without introducing a visible motif.

About this fabric

This velvet is woven from 69% viscose, 19% cotton and 12% polyester, with a 140 cm (55") width. The image shows a soft silver-grey colourway with delicate tonal variation across the pile, moving between misty grey and warmer silvery highlights. Its dense, lightly lustrous surface is suited to both curtains and upholstery, while the 50,000 Martindale rub test supports use on fixed or loose seating. It is also suitable for bedspreads and must be professionally dry cleaned; do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use this cool silver-grey on a statement armchair, headboard or full-length curtain where its shifting pile can pick up changing daylight. Pair it with chalky whites, pale stone and brushed metal for a restrained, luminous scheme.

A cool silver velvet with softly shifting pile, suited to elegant upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
