About this fabric

This GP & J Baker velvet is woven from 55% viscose and 45% cotton and measures 136 cm wide. The design brings together stepped diamonds, scrolling motifs, narrow linear bands and small ornamental medallions in an earthy olive-and-ebony palette, with lighter cream areas catching the eye across the repeat. With a 92 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 68 cm horizontal repeat, the pattern has a substantial architectural presence on larger pieces. A 50,000 Martindale rub test supports its use for loose and fixed upholstery, while it is also specified for curtains and bedspreads; professional dry cleaning is required.

How to use it

Use the muted olive ground on a statement chair, sofa or upholstered bed, pairing it with ebony timber, aged brass and warm neutrals to draw out the pattern’s earthy depth. The small touches of teal and rust can be repeated selectively in cushions or artwork.

A richly patterned olive velvet that brings depth to upholstered seating, headboards and layered schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
