Oriental Garden Mole

About this fabric

This GP & J Baker velvet is woven from 55% viscose and 45% cotton, with a 140 cm width and a substantial 50,000 Martindale rub rating. In this Mole colourway, muted olive and forest greens dominate, while dusty blush petals, warm cream flowers and small touches of rust create a warm, timeworn palette rather than a bright botanical effect. The floral design has a 51 cm vertical repeat and 70 cm horizontal repeat, giving the large blooms and interlaced leaves a clearly visible rhythm across the cloth. It is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Pair the moss-olive ground with aged oak, warm neutrals and brushed brass, using the blush and cream flowers as gentle accent colours. On a chair or sofa, the dense floral velvet makes a richly layered focal point; across curtains or a bedspread, it brings a darker, enveloping mood.

Use this richly layered olive floral velvet to bring depth to upholstery, curtains, bedspreads and relaxed country-style interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
