About this fabric

The dark ground is enlivened by muted blue-green and olive leaves, warm ochre and rust flowers, and flashes of orange, red and blue in the birds and smaller details. As a velvet, the surface has a soft, light-catching character that intensifies the contrast between the shadowed ground and the saturated botanical artwork. It is woven from 60% viscose, 30% cotton and 10% polyester, with a 137 cm (53.82") width. The design has a 90 cm (35.36") vertical repeat and 68.5 cm (26.91") horizontal repeat, and is rated to 50,000 Martindale rubs for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use this charcoal colourway on a statement armchair, headboard or sofa where its near-black depth can anchor the room. Balance the botanical detail with warm wood, aged brass and plain textiles in olive, tobacco or rust tones.

A richly detailed charcoal velvet bringing dramatic botanical colour to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
