Nympheus Velvet Emerald shows a dense pond scene on a deep, cool emerald ground, with broad lotus leaves, floating flowers and water birds woven into the composition. Olive, moss, ochre, rust and muted pink details bring warmth and movement to the dark background.

About this fabric

The large botanical design features overlapping lily pads, lotus blooms, trailing stems and long-feathered water birds, with the emerald ground giving the swatch a deep, atmospheric feel. Subtle surface texture catches the light across the velvet, while the softened olive foliage and ochre flowers create an aged, painterly contrast against the saturated green. Made from 60% viscose, 30% cotton and 10% polyester, this 137 cm-wide fabric has a 90 cm vertical repeat and a 68.5 cm horizontal repeat. With a 50,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The fabric must be professionally dry cleaned and must not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the deep emerald ground to make an upholstered chair, sofa or headboard feel enveloping and dramatic, pairing it with warm ochre, aged brass and natural wood. For curtains or bedspreads, allow the large lotus-and-bird repeat to read as a richly layered focal point.
