About this fabric

The design is formed from interlocking, irregular linear shapes in muted rosewood, set against a light shiitake beige ground; the contrast is warm rather than stark. Its 25 cm vertical repeat and 34 cm horizontal repeat give the pattern a clearly legible medium scale across the 138 cm usable width. At 250 gsm, the cloth has a substantial mid-weight presence, while the visible fine weave and specification of 166 threads per cm retain a refined surface. The repeated geometry reads crisp at a distance but gains a gently softened edge from the textured weave.

How to use it

Use this warm beige and rosewood colourway to bring graphic definition to an upholstered chair, sofa or tailored curtain without introducing a hard black-and-white contrast. It works especially well alongside natural timber, clay tones and other warm neutrals that echo the Brazilian rosewood lines.

A warm, graphic neutral with enough texture for upholstery and enough visual openness for drapery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Izumi Shiitake/Brazilian Rosewood without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
