Oceanic Moss/Olivine

Defined Momentum Fabrics FabricHAF0643-02

Oceanic Moss/Olivine combines deep olive, moss and near-black marks with irregular cream openings in a strongly textured abstract weave. The broken horizontal strokes and intersecting vertical fragments create a layered, weathered rhythm across the surface.

About this fabric

At 515gsm, this substantial textile is well suited to upholstery, where its dense woven appearance can bring depth to a chair, sofa or headboard. The 132.5cm usable width supports practical upholstery planning, while the 105cm vertical repeat and 66.5cm horizontal repeat define the placement of its irregular stripe-like motif. Fine olive and dark threads gather into uneven bars over a creamy ground, so the colourway reads as earthy and cool rather than bright or botanical. Its stated construction of 172 threads per cm contributes to the visually compact, richly worked surface seen in the swatch.

How to use it

Pair Oceanic Moss/Olivine with warm timber, aged brass and soft ivory upholstery companions to balance its cool, deep olive tone. On a sofa or occasional chair, let the broken horizontal pattern act as a graphic focal point against quieter plains.

Use the deep olive ground and broken cream marks to add graphic texture to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Oceanic Moss/Olivine without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
