Idyllic Fabrics FabricHAF0573-03

Silene Taupe/First Light/Ochre combines a softly warm taupe ground with slender vertical rows of small botanical motifs. Creamy First Light accents and muted ochre details give the close-set pattern a light, quietly sunlit character.

About this fabric

The fabric has a dense, tactile appearance in the swatch, with narrow taupe bands separating repeated cream leaf-like forms and small ochre marks. Its 385gsm weight and 37 threads per cm give it a substantial woven handle suited to upholstery. The pattern repeat is deliberately petite at 3.4cm vertically and 2cm horizontally, keeping the rhythm neat across a 127cm usable width. Compared with a cooler grey neutral, this colourway reads warmer and more grounded, while the pale motifs prevent the taupe from feeling heavy.

How to use it

Use this warm taupe colourway on a compact armchair, dining seat or tailored bench where its fine vertical rhythm can add texture without dominating. Pair it with chalky creams, natural timber and small touches of ochre to draw out the fabric’s softly golden accents.

The warm taupe ground and restrained ochre detailing bring gentle, natural contrast to upholstered seating and occasional furniture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
