Hermitage Castle Elcho

Hermitage Castle Undyed Wools Fabric

Hermitage Castle Elcho has a deep, weathered charcoal-grey ground, enlivened by pale and brown fibres within its irregular, closely worked surface. The result is a quiet, tactile textile with visible depth rather than a flat, uniform colour.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a softened charcoal, with warm grey and earthy brown flecks breaking through the darker ground. Its dense, nubby texture has a lightly slubbed appearance, creating small shifts between shadow and pale fibre across the surface. The close weave gives the fabric a substantial visual presence suited to upholstery and other tactile interior applications. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use the weathered charcoal-grey tone on a generously shaped armchair, ottoman or sofa where its irregular texture can be seen at close range. Balance it with warm timber, aged leather or muted stone shades to draw out the colourway’s earthy undertones.

A grounded charcoal-grey texture for relaxed upholstery, pairing easily with timber, leather and natural stone.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
