Montrose Melton Chilli

Inchcolm Abbey Fabric

Montrose Melton Chilli has a deep chilli-red ground, softened by closely blended rust, ochre and brown flecks. The compact surface reads as richly mottled rather than patterned, giving the colour visible depth across the swatch.

About this fabric

This Isle Mill textile from the Inchcolm Abbey collection shows a warm, earthy red with subtle tonal variation throughout the weave. Fine flecks of russet, muted orange and brown catch across the surface, preventing the chilli shade from appearing flat or overly bright. The dense, close texture visible in the image gives it a substantial upholstery character. No composition, width, rub-test or performance specification has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Montrose Melton Chilli on a statement armchair, dining seat or tailored sofa where its warm red-brown depth can anchor neutral walls, timber and aged brass. Its mottled surface also works well with terracotta, tobacco and softly coloured textiles.

Use this warm, mottled chilli red to bring depth and character to upholstered seating and occasional chairs.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
