About this fabric

This colourway shows a cool grey base layered with darker charcoal movement and faint lighter flecks, so it feels weathered rather than flat. As part of J Brown’s Modena collection, it is a 100% polyester contract fabric with an impressive 80,000 Martindale, making it suitable for hard-working seating. The supplied back coating achieves Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and other treatments are available on request. Its surface has enough texture to soften the grey, while still keeping the look smart and controlled.

How to use it

Use Modena Steel on banquettes, dining chairs or loose covers where a restrained grey with visual texture is needed. It pairs neatly with blackened metal, pale oak and crisp white, and the cool undertone suits contemporary contract schemes.
