About this fabric
This colourway reads as a smoky slate grey, lifted by subtle pale flecks and a low-contrast, weathered texture across the cloth. The overall effect is quietly distressed rather than flat, giving the plain surface depth without introducing a strong pattern. Made from 100% polyester, this contract fabric is specified at 80,000 Martindale, making it suitable for demanding upholstery schemes. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and other treatments are available upon request. After care includes professional dry clean in situ or washable at 40°C, subject to the pattern book guidance.
How to use it
Use Modena Slate on tailored seating, banquettes or accent chairs where its cool, grounded tone can balance timber, concrete and brushed steel. It also works well with off-white upholstery and darker accent colours for a polished, urban look.
Pair with pale oak and brushed metal for a restrained, contemporary scheme.
