Plaid Azure

Plaid Azure is a crisp woven check in clear azure blue, white and hints of soft grey. Its close-up surface shows gently irregular yarns that temper the pattern’s neat geometry.

About this fabric

The design is formed from intersecting azure-blue lines over a light white ground, creating medium-scale checks with a fresh, cool character. Fine broken strands and small variations in the weave give the colourway more depth than a flat printed plaid, while the pale areas keep it open and bright. The fabric appears to have a firm, versatile mid-weight suitable for upholstery or drapery. No performance features are noted in the supplied information.

How to use it

Use this blue-and-white plaid to sharpen a pale sitting room, coastal scheme or relaxed study, pairing it with chalky whites, cool grey and natural timber. On upholstery, its defined check gives a chair or cushion a tailored focal point without becoming heavy.

The cool azure checks bring crisp definition to upholstery, cushions and relaxed window treatments.

Pairs well with

Plaid Azure is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
