Smooth Marine

Smooth Iii Fabric

Smooth Marine is a deep marine blue with a cool, almost ink-dark appearance. Its plain face is softened by very subtle tonal variation, giving the colour depth without a visible pattern.

About this fabric

The swatch reads as a saturated blue-black marine shade, with a restrained teal cast appearing in the lighter areas. A fine, softly clouded texture breaks up the otherwise smooth surface and prevents the colour from looking flat. Its dense-looking face makes this colourway read as an upholstery-led fabric, particularly suited to seating where the dark tone can create a strong, enveloping presence. No composition, width, rub-test or performance specification has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Pair Smooth Marine with warm timber, aged brass or pale stone to balance its cool depth. On a sofa or occasional chair, the near-ink tone creates a calm focal point without introducing a patterned motif.

Use this cool, deep marine blue to bring quiet drama and depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
