The Royal Garden Cornflower

Belleville Fabric

The Royal Garden Cornflower sets an intricate botanical scene against a muted cornflower-blue ground. Ivory and cream flowers, slate-grey blooms, sage leaves and blue ornamental vessels create a cool, softly faded composition.

About this fabric

This 100% linen features a large-scale chinoiserie-inspired repeat of generous blooms, curling branches, layered foliage and decorative blue vessels. The cool blue background gives the colourway a calm, slightly timeworn character, while ivory flowers and pale grey petals provide contrast and depth. Sage-green leaves and warm branch details prevent the palette from feeling flat. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and General Domestic fixed upholstery, with dry-clean care.

How to use it

Use the cornflower-blue ground as the room’s main cool tone, balancing it with chalky ivory upholstery, sage accents and aged wood. Its detailed botanical scale suits full-length curtains or a statement fixed-upholstered chair where the floral repeat can be appreciated.

Pair the cool blue ground with ivory, sage and weathered timber for a softly collected scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside The Royal Garden Cornflower without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
