Cosmos Velvet Mushroom
Cosmos Velvet Velvet005
Cosmos Velvet Mushroom is a deep, earthy velvet with a softly clouded surface that shifts between brown, charcoal and muted grey in the light. Its gently distressed-looking nap gives the plain cloth depth without introducing a defined motif.

About this fabric
The colour reads as a dark mushroom brown, softened by smoky grey undertones and irregular lighter flashes across the pile. This mottled effect makes the velvet feel atmospheric rather than flat, while the short, plush surface catches light in subtly varied patches. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery, making it suitable for coordinated soft furnishings. The composition is 24% cotton and 76% polyester, with Contract and General Domestic upholstery grades and dry-clean after-care.
How to use it
Pair the deep mushroom-brown shade with warm stone, aged brass and charcoal for a cocooning scheme, or use it against pale plaster tones to let the smoky nap provide contrast. It is well suited to a tailored chair, sofa upholstery or full-length curtains where its shifting surface can be seen.
Use its deep mushroom tone to bring softly shaded warmth to upholstered seating, curtains and layered neutral schemes.

Pairs well with
Cosmos Velvet Mushroom is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
