About this fabric

The close weave combines pale and darker threads, creating a smoke-grey colourway that shifts subtly across the surface rather than reading as a flat solid. Fine slub-like irregularities and the visible crosshatch structure add tactile interest while keeping the design semi-plain. The composition is 30% linen, 19% wool, 19% polyester, 15% cotton, 12% viscose and 5% nylon. At approximately 137cm wide, Freya Smoke is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery, with Contract and General Domestic upholstery grades; after-care is dry clean.

How to use it

Use Freya Smoke on a tailored sofa, dining chair or full-length curtain where its cool smoky grey can soften darker schemes without becoming stark. Pair the textured neutral with charcoal, aged timber, brushed metal or warm stone.

Use the softly mottled smoky grey as a calm backdrop for darker wood, black accents or warm natural tones.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
