Romney British Wool Ember is a richly coloured plain wool with a warm terracotta-orange surface. Its close, softly granular texture gives the shade subtle depth rather than a flat, painted appearance.

About this fabric

Made from 100% Romney Wool and approximately 137cm wide, this plain woven fabric has a fine, even texture visible across the swatch. Ember sits between burnt orange and earthen terracotta, with a muted warmth that becomes deeper in the denser areas of the weave. It is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery, with Contract and General Domestic upholstery grades. After-care is dry clean.

How to use it

Use Ember on a reading chair, window seat or fixed sofa where its earthy orange tone can act as the room’s warm accent. As curtains, it will bring a grounded terracotta glow to rooms with cream, timber, tan or charcoal furnishings.

A warm, closely textured terracotta wool that brings depth to upholstery while adding rich colour to curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
