About this fabric

This colourway is defined by saturated clay-orange terracotta stripes, softened by chalky cream bands that keep the overall effect bright rather than heavy. Along each transition, irregular scalloped motifs create a rippling edge, while fine horizontal marks add a subtly graphic, hand-drawn quality. Made from 100% linen at approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery for general domestic use. Allow 3% shrinkage; care instructions include a delicate 30°C wash or dry cleaning, and it should not be tumble dried.

How to use it

Use Ruched Lava on relaxed curtains to introduce warm terracotta into a light, neutral room, or on fixed upholstery where its cream breaks and lively vertical pattern can provide structure. Balance the rust-toned colourway with aged timber, ivory walls and understated natural textures.

Pair the warm terracotta stripes with pale woods, natural linen and soft cream upholstery for a balanced, graphic scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ruched Lava without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
