Sweet Briar Boughs/Rose

Morris and Friends Volume I Fabrics FabricMOF0016-03

Sweet Briar Boughs/Rose combines a warm cream ground with closely spaced botanical trails in sage green, brown and muted rose. The overall effect is light, leafy and gently vintage rather than heavily saturated.

About this fabric

Fine brown stems weave vertically through the design, carrying pointed sage leaves and small rose-coloured flowers with darker centres. The 53 cm vertical repeat and 27 cm horizontal repeat create a dense, rhythmic field across the 137 cm usable width. At 230 gsm and 36.2 threads per cm, the cloth has a versatile mid-weight presence suitable for both upholstery and drapery applications. Its 60 m standard length supports larger coordinated projects, while no additional performance features are noted.

How to use it

Use this warm cream colourway to soften a reading chair, roman blind or full-length curtain, pairing it with natural wood, warm neutrals and muted rose accents. The leafy sage and brown detail also works well with plain linen-look textures that allow the small floral repeat to remain clear.

The warm cream ground and softly coloured botanical trails suit relaxed upholstery, curtains and coordinating cushions.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Sweet Briar Boughs/Rose without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
