Pimpernel Woad/Coral

Morris and Friends Volume I Fabrics FabricMOF0199-03

Pimpernel Woad/Coral combines a cool, muted woad-blue ground with closely drawn foliage, cream flowers and pinpoint coral details. The dense botanical arrangement has a softly vintage character, while the pale blooms lift the overall colourway.

About this fabric

The design shows repeated cream, poppy-like flowers set among curling blue-grey leaves, fine pale tracery and small coral-red buds. Woad reads as a softened blue rather than a bright navy, giving the pattern a calm depth; the cream blooms provide warmth without overpowering it. At 230 gsm and 36.2 threads per cm, this is a substantial mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery. It has a 140 cm usable width, with a 34.5 cm vertical repeat and 46 cm horizontal repeat to consider when matching the botanical layout.

How to use it

Pair this cool woad-and-coral colourway with chalky creams, weathered timber and muted terracotta for a layered sitting room scheme. Its compact repeat is well suited to curtains, occasional chairs, cushions or a coordinated upholstered settee.

Use the cool woad ground to temper the warm cream flowers and small coral accents on upholstery, curtains or cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
